Electric Vehicle Infrastructure – Supporting net zero
Driving the UK's transition to clean transport

August 11, 2025 in Frameworks
With recent investments into electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI), the UK is accelerating its transition towards net zero. In July 2025, the government announced a £63 million investment boost aimed at expanding access to EVI.[1]
To ensure the savings the EV transition can bring are felt in the public sector, the NHS in England is receiving a major sustainability upgrade, with an £8 million fund to support the electrification of ambulances and medical fleets across more than 200 NHS sites.
Supporting the push for EVI, the UK government has revised its Zero Emission Vehicle mandate. Manufacturers are now required to ensure that 28% of their new car sales are electric vehicles by 2025, with this target rising to 80% by 2030.[2] This makes it easier for the industry to produce electric vehicles while delivering the commitment to end sales of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
