What is contract lifecycle management (CLM)?
Contract lifecycle management (CLM) is the active management of a contract from award through to expiry, extension, renewal or re-procurement.
It makes sure the contract continues to deliver what was agreed, including supplier performance, savings, service quality, compliance and value for money. For public sector organisations, it also means keeping contracts under review throughout their life, not just at the point of procurement.
In simple terms, it is the difference between having a signed contract and getting the full value from it.
We do not have capacity to manage our contracts in-house. Can you do this for us?
Yes. Many public sector organisations have large and complex contract portfolios, but limited internal resource to manage them actively.
Lifecycle can act as an extension of your team, supporting supplier management, performance monitoring, savings tracking, compliance, reporting and renewal delivery.
This includes managing contract renewals on your behalf — from early review and stakeholder engagement through to supplier discussions, quotation activity, extension decisions, re-procurement planning and implementation.
You keep visibility and control, while we provide the structure, capacity and contract management expertise needed to keep your contracts on track.
What happens as our contract approaches expiry?
Contract expiry is one of the points where value and compliance risk can easily be lost. Contracts may roll over without review, lapse without a plan, or be re-procured under time pressure.
Lifecycle manages the renewal process for you. We review contract performance, notice periods, extension options, market conditions, supplier performance and procurement routes so you can make an informed decision on whether to extend, renew, re-tender or re-procure.
Where a renewal is the right route, we can support the end-to-end activity, including stakeholder engagement, supplier negotiation, quotation review, savings validation, approval support and implementation.
This reduces last-minute decision-making, protects service continuity and supports a compliant route forward.
