The CEO of London's Air Ambulance, Jonathon Jenkins, shares that their new strategy “outlines how [they] will continue to pioneer trauma care, not just for London but for patients worldwide.”[1]

Following the launch, the charity unveiled their mission figures, shedding light on the demand for its life-saving services due to the high numbers of falls from heights, road traffic collisions and assaults. These events are the primary reasons for severe injuries in London.

This new strategy will take the London Air Ambulance (LAA) charity into their 50th year of operation in 2039, in which they will continue to establish and evolve pre-hospital care, securing the best for all patients and their families.

How can we support?

At Procurement Services, we have an Emergency Response, Rescue Equipment and Associated Services framework, with a selection of awarded suppliers that can provide a wide range of emergency equipment. This includes equipment and medical supplies for working at heights, restricted and confined spaces and water rescue.

Here is a list of examples:

  • Harnesses
  • Pulleys and anchorage
  • Inflatable jump cushions and accessories
  • Rescue poles
  • Torches and head torches
  • Forcible entry tools- entry aids for manholes/tanks
  • Drysuits
  • Buoys, floatation aids/life ring
  • Inflatable walkways
  •  And much more

The framework also supplies special gear such as drones and thermal camera imaging, cutting equipment and tools, medical response equipment including defibrillators, and emergency shelters.

Examples of these include:

  • Multi-copters
  • Heavy-duty cutters
  • Lifting bags
  • Heat-retaining/ thermal blankets
  • Resuscitators

We are moving towards rescue services that, as expressed by the LAA charity, allow optimal life support for the patients of tomorrow, honouring those who couldn’t be saved today.
