RG Law: Supporting Housing Associations

Posted by Joshua Archibald on Nov 01, 2023

RG Law was successfully appointed to the KCS Procurement Services' new Legal Services framework in 2022 and has been providing housing associations with new build plot sale conveyancing.

This national framework of legal service providers covers a full range of legal services, from property and land law to education Law. RG Law has expertise and specialist legal skills in property and land law, as well as commercial law.

RG Law has expert solicitors who excel in navigating the complex landscape of public sector law, ensuring that housing association’s buyers receive the most comprehensive and professional legal support available.

The firm’s legal services are tailored specifically to the needs of public sector clients. Public sector property and land law covers a wide range of legal issues that can arise in relation to public sector bodies' ownership, use, and management of land and property.

Karen Marsh, Director at RG Law, commented: “This partnership has been a great opportunity for us to build on our reputation for delivering high-quality legal services. We look forward to continuing to build a long-lasting relationship with KCS Procurement Services, working collaboratively to support the needs of the UK public sector.”

The RG Law conveyancing team, led by Tina Khanna, provides support to public sector organisations and helps them with their legal obligations. Tina Khanna, Conveyancing Director, comments: “Housing associations are increasingly under pressure to meet their social housing challenges. A key issue is the safety of buildings, particularly around unsafe cladding in mid-rise buildings.

“A recent announcement by the Government outlines its biggest building safety intervention since the inception of the Act, with the full opening of the Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS).

“This means that costs associated with removal will now be covered by government funding, protecting leaseholders from costs where the responsible developer cannot be made to pay.

“It is estimated that thousands more mid-rise buildings will qualify, giving tens of thousands of residents across England a pathway to a safe home, with no cost whatsoever to leaseholders.

“The scheme will be available to all medium-rise buildings between 11 and 18 metres across England and high-rise buildings over 18 metres outside of London, where fire safety professionals have recommended that works must take place. The scheme will also be available to the social housing sector.”

RG Law’s legal services encompass a wide range of public sector domains, including local authorities, central government, regulatory bodies, and educational institutions. An award-winning law firm, RG Law has over 1920 Trustpilot reviews and is committed to delivering a 5-star customer experience. The contract runs from 1st August 2022 to 31st July 2026.
