Volunteering at the RSPCA Leybourne site
Spending the day creating a path for their dog walks!

June 10, 2025 in Procurement Services
On Friday the 16th of May, some of the team at Procurement Services spent a day supporting the RSPCA and learning about the vital work the charity does to care for and rehabilitate animals in need.
After an insightful tour of the site, which highlighted the RSPCA’s efforts to rescue and rehome animals from difficult situations, the team got involved in some hands-on tasks.
They shovelled woodchips, transported them using wheelbarrows, raked them to create a smooth surface, and carried logs to line a new path. This hard but rewarding work was aimed at improving the walking routes for the dogs, helping them regain confidence and enjoy outdoor experiences as part of their recovery journey.
Meeting some of the animals
At the end of the day, the team were lucky enough to spend some time with the animals they were there to support. This special moment included plenty of puppy and kitten cuddles, offering a heartwarming reminder of the lives being changed through the RSPCA’s work. It was a touching and memorable way to reflect on the impact of the day and connect more deeply with the mission of helping animals recover, heal, and find loving homes.
