We raised £291.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support!

The week beginning 22nd September, teams from across Procurement Services got together for Macmillan’s annual Coffee Morning event to raise money and spread awareness of the cause.

This included:

• Wearing green to show our support (the charity’s colour!)
• Getting together for a chat
• Bringing in baked goodies to the office
• Hosting team quizzes with prizes!

How we made a difference

Together we have raised £291.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support, which will go towards helping those living with cancer and supporting their loved ones.

They are an incredible organisation based in the UK, which provides many different services supporting people with cancer, such as:

• Funding for nurses, support workers and palliative care nurses
• Essential care and resources
• Their telephone support line for mental health difficulties
• Peer support groups
• Providing education surrounding a cancer diagnosis
• Funding research into cancer treatment
• Volunteering services
• And so much more…

In 2024, Macmillan estimated that 2.4 million people were reached with their services, which shows just how much impact they have had, and the amount of people that need their support!

Thank you to everyone who took part in this fundraising event and donated towards this incredible organisation, you are helping to make all these provisions possible.
