How colleagues across Procurement Services donated over 100 books to help tackle book poverty

Recently, colleagues across Procurement Services came together to support OXFAM and The Children’s Book Project through our Charity Book Drive.

We donated over 100 books, giving children and adults alike the chance to discover new worlds, spark imagination and develop a lifelong love of reading.

💡 Did you know?
One in three disadvantaged children across the UK have fewer than ten books of their own at home, and one in ten has none. The Children's Book Project works closely with women’s groups, children’s centres, prisons and schools to gift books to children nationwide, supporting communities that may benefit most from access to free books.

By donating books to OXFAM, we are supporting their mission of fighting poverty worldwide. They are able to provide essential resources to those in need, helping to alleviate poverty and improve living conditions. Oxfam's book donations are part of a broader effort to combat poverty and provide support to communities around the globe.

Social value sits at the heart of what we do, and initiatives like this show how small actions can make a meaningful difference. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed!
